Power moves swiftly, invisibly, on the wind. The quiet dry ridges of the cliffs begin to loosen and speak. Stone and dust particles fall in ripples from the edges under the pressure of the air's changing character. As my audibility increases in length and distance, I hear the earth beating around me. I feel the water rise and the current quicken. I hear the Bald Eagle scream. Sun light blinds my vision. Filaments of light shoot out of me from every orifice and pour. Each one simultaneously capturing my attention. At once I seem to feel the characteristics of being spread out between each filament of light, and connected again with each one at very same time. As I loose all sense of my weight, I instinctively feel the stillness of my physical body in the way one would when sitting against a large rock, yet I am suspended, entangled within the scene.
With my eyes fixed on the crack of dusks light, I observe my surroundings fold into my field of view and, as if spiraling inward, everything folds into the center, slowly eliminating any delineation of character or reference of singularity. The tighter I gauge my focus, the more I begin to see. Suddenly I feel a loud snap or crack. The sound is like a great tree snapping in two. Immediately every fiber of my being became grounded in the voice of the Dream Council.
"Welcome to the Second Attention. Our allegiance to the warrior awaits his question".
The most amazing feeling moves through me when the Dream Council speaks. Every fiber of my physical body seems to resonate with a simultaneous "striking of a chord". I can see every tone move within me as sound. I can hear the words taking form. I can feel my relationship being there as part of the process.
As I asked the Dream Council to speak with me about death, both myself and the Dream Council, immediately after my asking, began to chuckle and laugh... without hesitation... I did not wonder why.
"It is an interesting fact that in your normal physical attention, the human species' physiology is in a constant state of cellular rebirth, the fact that your life, as you experience living, depends upon the "life force" within you, to be essentially dying. If the cells of your body do not perish and replenish themselves, life as you know it would cease. Yet life as you know it this way does not incorporate this small, unending cycle of death and rebirth into a larger field of understanding the death experience.
There is no one specific act of death outside of death as an act of life. Life is always in a present state of becoming. This state of becoming is eternal. What is eternal in the endless expression of life as you know it, in relation to its state of becoming, are the implications of the experience lived in reference to what you believe is in dying.
I asked the Dream Council to explain what was meant in reference to the last statement. The Dream Council explained that because our view of death is limited, so may our view of the afterlife and the matter of reincarnation in relation to the subject of death and how we live our lives accordingly.
" Much like your heart beats and your body breathes, consciousness has a rhythm . You can not, in your normal state of fixed perception, notice this action of consciousness, yet it is happening all the time.
There is a subtle pause between each breath, within each heart beat, within each blink of your eyes, as there is within the rhythm of consciousness expressing physical life, a subtle pause.
Now consciousness is simultaneously expressing itself on a larger playing field where life, death, the afterlife and reincarnation are intertwined within this conscious expression. Death as you know and perceive it to be, in relation to the physical state, is simply one of these pauses between the conscious expressions of physical life on the larger playing field.
When one dies, one enters the afterlife with the implications of ones beliefs that were held in life. This is beneficial to the growth of an individual in relation to life in its constant state of becoming, not only in the immediate afterlife, but also in the reincarnation experience. Therefore what you think and believe is very specific to the afterlife experience in terms of immediate death. Over the long term or "death period", one may rest and evaluate the life they recently lived and choose to reincarnate for appropriate reasons.
Before I returned to my normal state of attention, the Dream Council bid me farwell and spoke one last time.
"Death, as a fundamental ingredient for life, is to the warrior, the living side of death".
Peace on your journey, Kris
