Voices of the Stone
Growing up on the shore line of Lake Ontario, I spent much of my youth sitting, listening, observing, collecting and polishing the sacred grandmothers and grandfather stones.
Every stone has a story to tell, or speak to. Whether relative to our environment, history / Earth walk, our personal experience, I have noticed over the years, a link between the stones and Mother Earth. The stones are the vehicle for information coming from the Earth. Because we are related to the physical Earth, being in the physical body with Spirit within us, Spirit too will convey messages to us via the same medium - stone.
The Earth is our keeper, our mother. She is always speaking to us.
Each new season there is a theme coming from the Voices of the Stone. Whether it be that in consistency of color, shape or symbolic reference in the pictures depicted on the surfaces, etc... our good Mother Earth is always preparing us in one way or another by a synergy of events. Whether together as a whole or individually speaking.

You may not hear her in your ears, she communicates with our being...we may feel it in our body, mind, heart and spirit.

Often times we need to flex, bend, roll with flow or just adjust to the current, as Spirit would suggest. After all it is energy. And in learning how to tame the energy, one must learn how to follow the current, get to know it, to feel it and co-exist as such. It is extremely gratifying.

These places we make our home, where the cycle of change is always in perfect equilibrium,
I am, as we are, in balance with it.

Lake Ontario Shiva Stones
These Naturally occurring, Lake Ontario, egg shaped stones are linked to the Sacred Shiva Lingam Stones. The Linga or Lingam is one of the most revered stones in the world which were originally harvested once annually in a special ceremony from the river Narmada during the dry season at low water levels. The river Narmada is located about 300 miles north of Bombay, in the west central portion of India.
The Shiva's are naturally egg shaped, polished by hand and rubbed with Ghee. This was done during the process of meditation in reverence for the rebirth of all life.
The ancient scriptures of India speak of the birth of Lord Lakulish in the 2nd century A.D. Lord Lakulish helped make Shaivism teachings popular. Lord Lakulish died and then arose from the dead and as such was said to be the 28th incarnation of Lord Shiva, the Hindu God of creativity and rebirth. He left his earthly body and merged with the sacred Lingam. The Lingams were installed at sacred temples and were venerated well into the 12th-13th century. At the time of Muslim invasion the sacred Jyotirlinga (that of) Lord Shiva was ordered to be buried so that the image of Shiva could not be taken.
In 1866, after being lost for 841 years, the sacred Linga of Lord Shiva reemerged from the ground near the village of Karvan, and was recognized for its importance. Since this event all Lingams regained their full powers of divinity. And have since began to travel and emerge all over the world.
I have been very grateful to find these sacred stones along the shoreline of Lake Ontario. And although, perhaps till now, unofficially recognized as Shiva Lingam Clan Stones, I humbly share them here as such.

The Cross
This absolutely gorgeous Dolostone with a Dolomite cross, found on the sacred shoreline of Lake Ontario, generally speaks across the board on a religious/spiritual point of reference. It also speaks to the Four Winds and the Medicine Wheel. However, when reading the symbols of lines upon any stone, immediately a cross of horizontal and vertical lines represents stability.
Of course one must always take into account the surrounding environment of stones that have been included in the layout.
In such a case, this cross could represent a crossroads/a major decision. In other cases of layout, the cross could speak of an individuals balance between spirit and physical life. No matter what the relationship within the layout, the key is stability.

The Warrior... Wearing the Rune symbol of Warrior/Revolutionary, this stone immediately earns my high regard. The arrow which is his nose signals philosophical ideals. He is one who knows the love of humanity and humbly lives accordingly. The Warrior finds courage through a journey of spiritual strength. It is courage and strength of character that allow us to make change. It is with a character of support and reform that changes are made.

On the opposite side of the stone, the surface depicts a set of mountains.
I found this stone in 1992. It spoke then of a coming time, as it speaks now, of the time we are in.

Fossils speak to us about the living history of Mother Earth and our ancestry. They speak to our relation with all living things. When appointing the stone as an ally - one bearing information, fossils remind us to be grounded in our truth. To be grounded in ones truth is to be set in stone.
It is like the Spirit say's... When one is perennially at his center all parts come into balance.

For the Shaman, this art of shape shifting is the intended maneuver of the Assemblage Point. The "shifting" of ones assembled awareness.

The Buffalo is a very sacred animal to the Native American and represents Prayer/Abundance. Buffalo was the source of sustenance to the Plains people. From food to clothing, blankets/coverings, even glue.
The medicine of Buffalo is gratitude for all things provided.
Buffalo medicine is associated with the use of the Sacred Pipe in sending our prayers to the Creator.
Similarly, the Cow is sincerely respected in Hinduism and is a very sacred animal. While providing a great deal... of sustenance, Cow is a caretaker, nurturer - a maternal figure, like our Mother Earth.
Years ago, in the 80's, an old Navajo man told me a story. He spoke about the Buffalo/Cow that stood in the west of each age, holding back the water from rushing in. That over time, with each year, loses a hair and as intervals build, loses a leg. And at that time the Buffalo/Cow was nearly bald and legless. He said this was a sign marking an age of water rushing in and ushering a new cycle of human evolution. Then he reiterated a legend of a White Buffalo...
He referred to this time as the 5th world, the world of Ether/Spirit. Some referred to this new era as the "New Age". I remember recalling to him The 5th Dimension... they sang to us about the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
Not too many years after meeting that Navajo man, in synch with it all, came the fulfillment of a prophecy of the White Buffalo being born, a very sacred sign indeed.
The old man told me that during this very special age on our Mother Earth, we are encouraged to walk in a sacred manor. And in those special moments of presence, he said the Spirit will show us and that we will know... walking a good Red Road is a worthy journey indeed

This lake stone Agate is very sweet indeed. Not only is the green stone such a heart healing color, it depicts the Tree of Life. It is the Tree of Life that teaches us the continuity of all things living.
The Tree of Life is also a complex symbol that plays a central role in the philosophy of Kabbalah.
Tree Spirits are associated with their own gifts/power... Seen here in this stone is a mighty Oak tree. The Oak is known as a very powerful spirit, which has great strength and endurance.

These rings are indicative of source energy oscillating outward from its center. Our use of this source energy is up to us. It is important to remember, source energy is pure, raw, unadulterated. It is our actions, beliefs, thoughts and desires that shape the rawness into "how" we reflect that Divine source energy in our lives. Source energy is not bias in any way shape or form. Source energy (is) every way, shape and form. It is the mold, we do the molding.
